This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales professional to join a fast-growing plastic manufacturing specialist with over 30 years of trading history. Our client is a brand leader and manufacturer of an innovative range of site safety solutions, utilising expertise in plastic moulding technologies across composites, injection, and compression moulding processes.

Our client has an excellent reputation for its design, product development and innovation capability and is recognised for its leadership in the use of recycled plastics in its product range.  Widely distributed across a diverse customer base it serves sectors such as major utilities, highways and construction, where on-site safety and security are key customer requirements. It serves the UK, US and European markets and has significant growth plans.

As the Business Development Manager, you will report to the Head of Sales and work as part of an established sales team to help grow the company in the UK Hire and Distributor sector. This role involves targeting, developing, and nurturing both existing and new customer relationships to increase sales and business growth. You will be working closely with your colleagues in marketing, customer care, operations, finance, and R&D in order to achieve your budgeted sales target through a defined sales growth plan. The successful candidate will be adept at specification led selling, building key end users, and servicing them through a network of distribution partners within this growing industry sector.

Ideal candidates will have at least five years’ sales experience in a commercial environment, selling directly to distribution partners and end user clients – ideally in a brand led manufacturing business. You will be a highly motivated self-starter and used to meeting tight deadlines. A proven track record in achieving B2B sales targets, you will have strong negotiation and analytical skills, and be a team player with excellent communication skills. Experience of selling within relevant utilities, construction, or safety orientated markets is desirable.
