This key senior role will appeal to a graduate qualified CIPS purchasing professional looking for an opportunity to lead the function and make their mark within this market leading company, a £100 + million and growing, vertically integrated multi-site manufacturer of high value complex products. It is a well-established brand leader with an ambitious plan for the future and it has a broad supplier base including raw materials used in the manufacturing process, site services, energy, equipment and all of the consumable items and materials necessary to ensure a continuous and effective operational performance. Supplier contracts can be significant and materials are also sourced internationally. Reporting is to the Board and as a member of the senior leadership team the focus of the role is to deliver products and services of the right quality and price to the right location and at the right time from the right sources and in support of the company’s world-class manufacturing platform. The implementation of effective KPI’s, use of lean methodology, deployment of effective control systems, the development of key supplier relationships, team building and leadership are all important aspects of this broad ranging role. Candidates will need to be graduate qualified, with a CIPS qualification and world-class training in best practice purchasing, materials management and supply chain management, all gained in high quality complex manufacturing environments supported by ERP systems. You will understand the importance of procurement and materials management in supporting the company’s competitive position and have proven success in delivering maximum value through strategic sourcing and effective partnering with key suppliers. You will also ensure full operational planning is in place together with forecast planning on capacity and capability and the effective integration of suppliers into the supply chain through the use of performance KPI’s is also important. This is a hands on leadership role coming at an excellent time to be joining this highly successful business which has an ambitious growth plan and will offer lots of scope for you to make an impact. The remuneration package should attract “best in class”, is very comprehensive and you will also be expected to live in the North West UK and within a reasonable commute of the company Head Office.
