This senior role will appeal to a graduate qualified structural engineer who has developed their career into technical leadership within the construction products sector and specifically exterior fixings, products and systems. Our client is a subsidiary of an international group with a strong market presence and is a manufacturer whose products and solutions are sold through specifiers, contractors, distributors and OEM’s. The UK company has two key sites, one in West Yorkshire and one in the Home Counties, each with their own technical teams and this role carries responsibility for the leadership of these two teams with the prime objective being to bring leadership and a world-class one-team approach across both sites. In addition to team leadership responsibilities, there is also significant technical content which is focused on supporting the company’s business development and commercial activities. You will lead from the front in a hands-on way and provide unrivalled technical support by way of technical calculations, drawing overlays, testing, advice on product specifications and importantly be the respected go-to point of contact and technical authority within the company and also its key customers. Additionally you will ensure that the company is completely up to date with current thinking on exterior specifications, installation guidelines and associated risk and you will build your network in the sector to ensure this. You will need to be a graduate qualified structural engineer, ideally also have a Masters level qualification and your career will have progressed in world-class construction products environments into technical leadership and demonstrate deep experience and knowledge of the building envelope and closely related products and systems.
