The Consultancy Group are currently recruiting a Commercial Finance Manager for an International Retail business based in London. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance this Finance Manager role offers a unique opportunity to be a truly focused Finance Business Partner. The Commercial Finance Manager will deliver insightful analysis to answer key business questions that directly influence the day-to-day and long term strategy of the business. Duties include: Work with senior management to support the development of appropriate strategies for the growth of the business Partner across the entire organisation to support both financially and analytically towards their goals and priorities Lead and develop a team of 3 Work with business partners to build financial business cases to support large scale investments Develop an understanding of the competitive pressures that the business faces and their potential implications and provide business alternatives/solutions Work with the Head of Commercial Finance to provide cohesive analytical support on ad hoc financial analyses that drive strategic business decisions Continually challenge current thinking and make recommendations on how to optimise business opportunities and minimise risk/cost to the business. Evaluate and report actual versus planned outcomes of key European strategic and tactical decisions The successful candidate will be a Qualified Finance Professional with significant post-qualification experience gained within a Consumer facing business (ideally Retail/FMCG). They will possess strong business modelling skills and have a proven analytical approach to problem solving and acute commercial awareness. They will be able to communicate and influence across the business and be comfortable business partnering across a variety of functions

This is a pivotal senior-level opening leading a talented team in overseeing the day-to-day controllership, reporting and transactional finance function. Responsibilities include: Leading month end close activities in line with deadlines and while improving processes Review of monthly journals, balance sheet and income statement, reconciliations and inter-company transactions Preparation of month end analysis and commentary, reporting packs and quarterly management information for the senior management team Responsibility for improving accounting processes and internal controls Overseeing treasury and cash flow management Leading the external audit and preparation of financial statements and tax pack For success in this role you will be an ACA/CA qualified finance professional with at least 5 years PQE within a similar Group Financial Controller capacity. You will demonstrate excellent leadership skills having managed large finance teams including tax, treasury and transactional finance and be confident in building relationships at all levels. Additionally, a strong background in tax and compliance and experience in reporting under IFRS will be essential to your success.

You will report to the Finance Director and manage a small, growing team. There is a huge amount of scope within the role and there will be opportunities to progress. Key responsibilities will be as follows: Leading commercial insight and analysis for the Division. Ensuring the business receives high quality financial support. Leading and developing the FP&A team. Delivering insight and analysis which helps the business to achieve strategic goals and deliver the annual budget. Implementing improved processes, systems and analytical tools to improve the quality of forecasts, budgets and financial analysis. Support the CRO, SVP, Global MD Marketing Solutions, Head of Global Events with business insight and analysis. Provide commercial support and manage the pricing process across the division to ensure that margins are protected during the sales process. Manage cross regional revenue and margin splits. Ensure client incentive plans are reflected in contracts and in pricing decisions, are practical and can be tracked. Manage the delivery tracking process.
