A great chance for a solicitor to embrace this 'In-house' Leadership role in a commercially focussed organisation that offers an excellent work-life balance and further career development. No Billing targets! The business is based in the beautiful city of St. Albans. With an active transformation project underway the current Head of Legal has been promoted resulting in the search for a qualified solicitor to lead the legal aspects of their insurance business. In addition to your legal work, you will work towards growing in-house expertise on employer's liability and the development of your team (4). This role would be ideal for a solicitor with strong expertise in claims relating to clinical negligence, professional indemnity and employer's liability. You will have worked on claims from initial instructions through to litigation stage and have an expert knowledge on Civil Procedure Rules, in particular pre-action protocols. Please note external specialist support is available - Panel Solicitors. This key role will report to the Commercial Director, supporting the business with identifying, approaching and closing new opportunities across a wide industry sector. The company provide key consumer insight to help their clients understand their position in the market. As you would expect (at this senior level) you will be responsible for managing your own sales strategy and targets, you will also support the business with educating the insight team to improve their commercial focus. This is an all-encompassing role manging all areas of the new business process so you must be comfortable with setting up meetings, lead generation, presenting and pitching, writing engaging proposals and building strong and lasting relationships.
