THE ROLE Provide a complete finance support service to Workplace Technology, addressing all issues of a finance nature and providing all relevant information and reporting to meet internal and external demands. These services may include, but are not limited to, any of the following: business planning, forecasting, financial reporting and control. This will be an office-based position, however due to the distributed nature of the business, some travel and occasional overnight stays may be required. Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m., Monday to Friday, with a degree of flexibility expected. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Reporting to the CFO and responsible for 4 direct reports (2 Finance Managers, 1 Credit Control/Data Analyst, 1 Logistics) the key responsibilities of the role will include: To provide financial support and guidance to business unit directors/managers. To support the CFO in key financial aspects in MPS and support the business as necessary. To own the monthly forecasting process and take a lead role in preparing the annual business planning process for MPS. To lead the month-end close process, providing insightful commentary on key monthly variances for the results and presentations to the business where appropriate. To provide key management information for the monthly SMT meeting Produce monthly financial reporting packs and other ad-hoc reports for Division and Group. Business partner to internal teams and divisional/group teams as appropriate. To take the lead in the Smarter Faster Finance and wider Business Transformation projects, offering assistance and support on behalf of MPS Management of the Finance team, providing a number of key central support activities to the business, including SOP, billing and credit control as well as assisting in the management of offshored activities through the Finance Manager for Service. To assist in external & internal audits and ensure all aspects of compliance and control are met, working with the Risk and Compliance Manager on behalf of MPS. To contribute to the development of any financial models to evaluate the financial case for any proposed changes or commercial developments (in addition to business performance and continual improvements). Deputise for and work closely with the CFO in relation to any information requests or support as required. Take ownership for the integrity of the MPS balance sheet, ensuring effective controls are in place where necessary to support this. To develop, implement, review, monitor and analyse initiatives to improve the profitability and/or working capital of the business and to manage and mitigate business risks. Contribute to the business review of potential acquisitions, including involvement in due diligence reviews and finance integration of new acquisitions. Deputise for CFO in relation to any requests for support from the SLT as required. Education & Qualifications Qualified Accountant with at least 5 years PQE Job Experience Demonstrable experience of being a financial controller with experience of managing a team. Experience of working in an IT Services or Managed Print Services market also an advantage. Technical Skills Excellent knowledge of SAP critical Desirable Knowledge of Axiom Implementation of SAP S/4 Hana would be desirable as Capita plans to adopt this important upgrade in the next 18 months Key Attributes Flexibility and excellent communication skills for this fast-changing environment.
