Head of Engineering / Principal Engineer - Hardware / Embedded Programming, required for an innovative, fast paced organisation in Manchester as they look to bring their hardware development in-house. The Company: A tech start-up who have come up with an industry leading product which will change the way we interact with technology in our day to day lives. A big claim, but from seeing their product first hand during a presentation from the CEO, one I think they can deliver on. As it stands, the company outsource their hardware development, but are very keen to bring this in house in order to own their entire solution, from conception to post-sale support. The Role: You will provide the technical leadership on all thing's hardware, embedded C++ programming and their cutting-edge platform. As the first person in the internal team, initially you'll be doing all the hands-on work yourself, however, in time, you will be given the chance to grow, build and mentor your own team. You will be a real evangelist when it comes to Linux based systems, electronic circuit design, embedded C++ programming and ideally knowledge of Amazon Web Services. A totally unique role where you can really put your stamp on an innovative product, in a high calibre team with masses of potential from a professional development point of view. Tech Stack/Responsibilities: ** Amazon Web Services / AWS / Cloud-Based Data Systems ** Linux Operating Systems - ideally real-time ** Embedded C++ Programming ** Team Leadership / Mentoring Salary / Package: On offer for this role, we have a salary of £65-80k + various benefits, including private health care, contributory pension and 26 days holiday + bank. You will manage, lead and inspire a growing agile team compromising developers, project managers and a product manager and will be responsible for driving technical solutions. As such you will ideally have experience with Front end development frameworks and be able to demonstrate a strong technical knowledge of, and background working with, Javascript, JQuery, Angular JS, PHP. The role will have a huge amount of autonomy and you will have complete responsibility and accountability for the delivery of technology to the business.
