We are currently working with an architectural practice based near Mayfair who have got a wealth of experience working within the residential, retail, conservation and commercial sectors. Our client has framework agreements with some large clients and are involved in all aspects of the design process. The practice currently has 20+ live projects which are being managed my one active director and a team of architects. This increase in workload has led to them requiring another director to come on board and assist in leading the team through some of these exciting and varied projects. This director will need to have an architectural background and ideally have experience in generating business and managing projects from the front end. This company have a major retail park and large apartments in the pipeline so the confidence to deliver these will be required immediately when stepping into the role. Our client prides themselves on delivering well beyond their client's expectations and understand that each project is as unique as their client. Reporting directly to the MD, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Design & Technical Departments as well as taking responsibility for the technical compliance of the project portfolio which currently consists of roughly 200 units across 4 - 6 sites but is growing. Head of Technical Position Overview Manage the team of Design Co-ordinators and Design Managers across multiple projects Offer strategic direction and decision making capacity on technical matters Manage technical risks across portfolio of projects and report on individual and cumulative risk impacts and mitigation at board level Work with the pre-construction team to technically appraise incoming tenders, identifying key risks, opportunities and gaps in the technical information and ERs Lead, check and approve all project design programmes Sign off on all appointments and fee invoices Principal client liaison on technical and compliance matters for all projects Work closely with the Commercial Manager and Operations Manager to maintain oversight of cost implications of team decisions. Provide strategic direction to the team and strengthen processes for achieving full and complete co-ordination of design Make final decisions on technical issues Check and ratify that planning, BCO and NHBC conditions and associated timeframes have been correctly identified and managed, and cleared across all projects Ensure internal and external teams comply with CDM obligations. One of the UK's top 30 M&E consultancies ,they are currently going through an exciting growth period and are looking for an Associate Electrical Design Engineer to lead & build the Electrical Design team in Northamptonshire. The ideal Associate Electrical Engineer should be based in or locally to Northamptonshire. You will be leading a team of 6-10 dedicated engineers on some challenging projects including High-End Residential Apartments and other Commercial, Education, Leisure & Heritage projects. The Associate Electrical Director will be expected to direct and lead a strong team of engineers as well as being involved with the hands-on design of Residential & Commercial projects.
