Our client provides intelligent interface between humans and buildings to bring Comfort, Safety & Efficiency to their customer's lives. Description The Engineering Director will provide the vision, technical direction and leadership to a dedicated team responsible for the design, development and maintenance of innovative and market-leading products, which will enable the company to increase market share within existing and new markets. Key Responsibilities: To participate as a member of the business leadership team with key input into strategy and management at the local and strategic level To lead and manage the Engineering function for - a team of around 35 core staff with contractors bringing the team to between 40-45 members dependent upon development requirements. This team includes embedded systems, mobile app, cloud services, analytics and test and quality teams. Develop the team capability to support cutting-edge smart/connected products, a legacy product range and continuous engineering and value engineering activities. To lead the technical team in the development of products which are innovative, competitive, "designed for manufacture", safe and legally/environmentally compliant. You will own the delivery of the programme portfolio through the entire life-cycle, meeting time-to-market and quality KPIs.To manage existing products through the product life-cycle You will own the service delivery and operations of the connected service portfolio ensuring availability performance that meets the customers' expectations. You will determine what development will be carried out in-house and where to engage external partners. As such, you will develop a network of technology and design partners. To promote and sustain the development of intellectual property. Oversee and continually improve the annual strategy review and planning process with a focus on timing and output quality to support the Division business plan. Deploy and align the standard Offer Creation Process in all sites - methods and procedures, tools and methodologies in the product development processes to ensure compliance with company best practice and procedures. Profile About You You will be a strong team player and an inspirational leader possessing technical credibility and presence, with the ability to quickly gain the confidence of your team, your peers and executive management You will be a credible technologist with development experience in some of the constituent technologies of the IoT space (software development, hardware, connectivity, system design). You will previously have had hands-on product development experience. You will have experience in managing both software and hardware development projects, with significant experience in agile product development. You will have experience in owning high-availability software platforms. Description The Chief Operating Officer will form part of the senior leadership team, responsible for manufacturing and production, engineering, sales, distribution and purchasing with 100+ indirect reports and 7 direct reports. The key focus is on developing the capabilities of both staff and the facilities to deliver manufacturing excellence that drives extensive and sustainable growth. Responsibility for the daily operation of production, manufacturing, engineering, sales, distribution and supply chain management. Act as a coach and mentor to the respective heads of manufacturing to ensure they receive the necessary support and guidance to ensure measurable success. Ensure cultural alignment to the business and establish clearly defined expectations and performance criteria. Collaborate closely at Director level and produce reports on company operations and performance against strategic objectives. Deliver word class operational performance through the effective application of methodologies, systems, processes, resources and people through MRP, OEE and Six Sigma. Build relationships that maximise value to the business. Continuously review and evaluate the operational resources of the business to deal with current and medium term business needs, identifying skill gaps, recruitment needs and succession planning.
