Very successful British gift and beauty brand found on the shelves of many of our much-loved retailers, seeks a self-motivated, industry experienced Head of Department to join their growing team! You will be comfortable working in a smaller company but with big ambitions and will work closely with the Creative Director to bring vision and design to fruition in this extremely busy and successful company. The company is experiencing such huge levels of growth that you will be a key senior team member helping to continue this success. The right candidate will be passionate about the gift and beauty industry, will be hot on all new trends, and will have solid hands-on product development experience working directly with factories, alongside leading and inspiring a product development team. Yes, we are asking for a lot but opportunities like this don't come up very often, so we want it all! As Head of New Product Development, your role will involve: Driving new product development delivering commercial and innovative new products. Managing the product life cycle from initial concept through to completion. Regular comp shopping and competitor analysis to ensure new products stay ahead of the curve, analysing the market for new product development opportunities. Working with the Creative Director to deliver the best product ranges in the market at all times. Full critical path management throughout the production process. Maximising profit margin through negotiating costs on new products. Managing, inspiring and developing the Product Development team. Liaising with clients and buyers, taking briefs, and translating into commercial, profitable ranges. Working closely with the in-house compliance team. Working closely with the Head of Supply Chain throughout production. Attending trade shows and factory visits oversees as required. The successful Head of New Product Development will have: 5+ years' Product Development experience within the gift or beauty industry. Commercially and trend aware, including retail trends. Must be passionate about gift retail. Must have a good eye, vision and imagination - with the ability to visualise how ideas could develop always with a commercial head. A confident decision maker, who thrives in a busy role and can effectively prioritise workloads. Some understanding of ingredients and formulations would be ideal but not essential. Good relationship building skills at all levels, with suppliers, colleagues and clients alike. Experience of managing a full product life cycle. Solid knowledge of cosmetic regulations and compliance. Experience positively managing a team. Good IT skills, particularly Excel and Adobe suite. A team player!
