Group Financial Controller Circa £75,000 Essex We are working with a growing organisation who are in need of an experienced Financial Controller. You will be reporting to the CFO and managing a team of 5 accountants. Working in an extremely varied and fast paced role with significant growth opportunities under private equity ownership. You will be a qualified ACCA/CIMA Accountant who is looking for a challenge with career progression. Working with the senior management to drive the business forward. Ideally with a background in either construction or engineering with proven experienced problem-solving skills. This will suit a strong communicator who can hit the ground running. Timely and accurate management account reporting Producing the main trading companies and the consolidated monthly accounts Development of KPI reporting Produce weekly cashflow forecast and management review Managing bank accounts on a day to day basis. A new role has been created to head up regulatory reporting for this market-leading, insurance company. The initial focus will be on working with the actuarial and finance teams to improve Solvency II reporting, control and process and upskilling the BAU reporting team on all regulatory reporting matters. The role will also lead IFRS17 implementation as well as taking the lead on any improvements required to current technical reporting and control. Main Responsibilities : Working with reserving actuaries, take the lead on Solvency II Pillar 3 quarterly Returns Take the lead on IFRS17 implementation Manage delivery of audit, including actuarial deliverables and lead on audit and Plc finance interactions Provide technical training and support to finance and actuarial teams Deputise for Finance Director as required Working with the actuarial team, provide challenge and insight on reserve surplus generation, margin and risk pricing Embed new systems and processes to deliver robust SII and regulatory reporting Assist with regulatory and other insurance technical reporting requirements as needed by the Financial Reporting & Control team The Ideal Candidate Competences: Business Awareness: Good commercial awareness essential with extensive experience of insurance and Solvency II is essential Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate well at all levels. MacKenzie King are delighted to be recruiting a European Financial Controller for a growing business on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds. A market leader in their industry this role will report into the Group Finance Director and will manage a team of 10 within finance. Following a recent acquisition the newly combined business is undergoing a period of significant change and supporting the Finance Director this role will contribute to improving financial processes and supporting commercial analysis for both the local management and the wider business. Key responsibilities will include: - Hands on responsibility for all aspects of European Finance territories including management reporting, treasury management, tax compliance, statutory accounting, external audit, budgeting and forecasting. - Development of new monthly board packs for the European Management team - Implementing a new budget and forecasting process, reviewing and challenging management submissions and preparing individual entity and Group consolidated budget. - Involvement in new ERP system implementation with key focus on developing and implementing new processes. - Implement a FP&A as a core component of the finance function, proving business partnering to the commercial team. You will be a qualified Accountant with a hands on mindset. You will have the willingness to own and deliver solutions to the wider business and have the credibility to be visible and engage across the business at all levels. A background in cost/product/stock accounting is desirable as is experience with international accounts.
