Our client, a fast-paced, high-volume fresh produce businesses is recruiting for an Interim Finance Director for a period of at least 3-6 months. Reporting into the Managing Director you will be responsible for the performance of the finance team and day-to-day operations. This business is one of Kent's premium employers and with the role offers a huge amount of progression and exposure to lots of different projects. The main responsibilities of this role will include: Ensure compliance with contractual documentation and all agreed programmes and procedures. Manage and ensure the timely delivery of their team's activities and ensure a consistent and compliant approach. Review audit working papers and statutory accounts for consistency and compliance. Liaise with the Systems and Risk Management team regarding the statutory audit timetable and status and monitor the statutory audit status against the agreed timetable. Ensure compliance with the financial controls. Performance management and development of their team members in accordance with business processes and resources. Participate in the development of the finance function, team and systems. Carry out other duties that fall within professional expertise. The ideal person for this role will be fully qualified with a background at a top tier accountancy practice. The successful candidate will need at least 3 years PQE. Contribute fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers. Ensure that the company's IT systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth, enhancing and implementing as appropriate Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties, including auditors and other stakeholders Provide leadership to the Board's Finance and Accounting strategy, to optimise the company's financial performance and strategic position. Take overall control of the company's accounting and company secretarial functions, managing and developing a team of 7 staff in accounts. Ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met and the company is meeting its fiduciary obligations. The ideal candidate for this role will be fully qualified with at least 5 years PQE and have experience within a professional services environment previously. This roll will include managing a team so management experience is also essential.
