After securing private equity investment, my client has experienced 20% growth for the last 3 years and opened 6 new offices during 2018. With similar growth forecast for the next few years, this is an exciting time to join this fast paced and dynamic business. Due to the rapid growth of the company, the CEO and CFO are looking to further strengthen their finance function with the addition of a Financial Controller. In addition to managing and developing the 12 person finance team, this position will have a focus on driving change within the department and adding value where possible. The successful incumbent will need to review current processes/systems and implement improvements to ensure more accurate and insightful financial information is available to senior management. The CEO is also wanting finance to integrate more effectively in to the wider business and so the Financial Controller will be tasked with introducing business partnering and engaging non-financial managers across the company through closer budget management and the provision of financial support. This PE-backed business are at an exciting period in their life-cycle and so my client is seeking to appoint a qualified accountant who has ambitions to continue their progression and take on additional responsibility as the company grows. Elevation Senior Finance are currently working with a listed key healthcare service provider in Leeds that as a result of internal progression are looking for a UKI Financial Controller. This is a true number two finance role in the Business. You will work closely with the Finance Director and executive team and will be the primary Accounting lead for the UK, Ireland and planned transition of their International business. This is a rare and unique opportunity to join a market leader in their specialist field at a time of significant change and business growth. Duties & Responsibilities will include: -Full responsibility for month end close and consolidation for UK and Ireland business entities Delivering close by BD6, including continuous improvement to drive the team towards a BD5 close by the end of the year. Review and submission of US monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages -Journal entry expected during month end close, on complex and sensitive areas -Full responsibility for and oversight of the group audit and the annual statutory accounts processes, managing all aspects of the audits, including planning audit timing, agreeing deadlines with the US, organising the team to the delivery of information, production of workpapers and final statutory accounts. Statutory accounts to be filed within tight deadlines from year end following new US rules -VAT and Corporation tax responsibilities including review and timely submission. Liaising with tax advisors proactively on potential issues affecting the business -Help with preparation of key Balance Sheet reconciliations and their review to US deadlines, including the support and training other staff when needed. Full responsibility for Balance Sheet deadlines and managing the online reconciliation system -Liaising with US Corporate team on all Accounting questions, and monthly Balance Sheet reviews by Legal Entity to be performed -Provision of accounting guidance and assistance on a wide variety of ad hoc queries, inclusive of complex and critical areas of accounting such as impairment testing, hedge accounting etc. Responsible for implementation of and adherence to US Accounting Policies -Full responsibility for SOX within Finance, including dealing with Internal Auditors testing, resolving findings, mentoring finance and non-finance team on how to resolve their issues and improve SOX controls -Analysis and maintenance of all US GAAP adjustments -Provision of accounting advice and financial due diligence on both corporate transactions and commercial deals, e.g. acquisitions, disposals, investments -Proactively implement and lead change across all areas of responsibility -Ultimate oversight of company secretarial duties, national statistics, VAT returns, etc. within the team, and timely filing of reports with the authorities -Liaising directly with US Corporate teams on a multitude of Accounting projects, including new Lease Standard, Revenue Recognition, Segregation of Duties, Journal Entry, Delegation of Authority, Risk Matrix reviews -Responsibility for Finance oversight of the PO system, including manage change process, audit trail, chart of account, authority levels and rules -Involvement in ERP implementation decisions, particularly chart of accounts decisions, legal entity structure, accruals and journals -Advise on all accounting implications for proposed M&A activities within the business -Oversee Company secretarial responsibilities Experience: -ACA Qualified -Experience of working in multinational and preferably with a US ultimate parent -Experience of managing and developing a team -Detailed understanding of US GAAP and local UK GAAP, must have overseen statutory preparation -Experience of multi-country accounting responsibility.
