The Head of Media and PR will be responsible for the development and delivery of the organisation's media strategy and promoting the organisation's work. Client Details This membership organisation is a national professional body for their industry. Description Develop and implement the organisation's PR strategy, working closely with senior management, policy and marketing teams Work closely with and advise the Director on the delivery of the organisation's proactive and responsive messaging to the media Managing both the activity and staff of the press office Proactively raising the organisation's profile and increasing press coverage in national media Developing media opportunities for key staff and spokespeople (internal and external) Provide crisis management plans and respond to situations that require PR/media guidance as appropriate Build strong relationships and act as a point of contact between the organisation and the senior press contacts including government departments, other business organisations and commercial partners Manage the media monitoring carried out by the public relations team including provision of a daily briefing, a news cutting service and ensuring key staff aware of issues that affect the organisation's work or reputation Build and maintain an industry leading social media presence with which to interact and influence the media online Budget and line management Profile Essential Demonstrable experience of media relations work and developing PR strategies and campaigns Understanding of how online and social media plays a part in communications objectives Solid media knowledge, with a focus on business, economic and political journalists and editors, and with an ability to identify and build new contacts Strong networking and relationship building skills with ability to engage with journalists and internal and external stakeholders of all levels Creative, proactive and professional approach to work, able to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and to deadlines Confident communicator with excellent writing and interpersonal skills with ability to translate complex issues into plain English to ensure that public understanding of the organisation's work is maximised Collaborative management style and able to show an awareness and respect of different ideas, viewpoints and working styles Previous line management experience Desirable Proven experience of managing a busy, high pressure press department Previous experience within a membership body Job Offer A salary of between £50,000 and £60,000 commensurate with experience

To manage a consistent process to monitor and review marketing activity and output To own customer insight, brand strategy and campaign design on and off line Effectively manage the marketing budget to deliver the marketing KPI's Effectively manage the marketing mix to ensure we are consistently delivering on marketing KPI's through various marketing and sales channels. To be an expert on the consumer - understand the different customer segments and ensure our communication messages are targeted correctly. Execute online and offline marketing campaigns that are effective in driving customer preference and engagement with the brand. Ensure we clearly understand our key competitors and the USPs and to develop strategies to achieve a % price premium through skilfully selling the product and service features and benefits. To develop and implement the digital strategy to drive relevant traffic to our digital properties via a range of marketing initiatives including paid and organic search programmes, social media campaigns, display advertising and support for directory listings To monitor and analyse performance & recommend changes to improve future potential and reporting regularly on ROI vs target Manage all external agencies to agreed SLAs and budgets ensuring their value add is demonstrable Profile The successful Head of Marketing will have: A proven track record in delivering marketing solutions to enhance the customer experience and deliver commercial benefit in large multi-site organisations Excellent digital skills with experience in developing and implementing lead generation strategies Experience in both B2B and B2C business environments ideal but B2C is essential. Demonstrable success in managing all elements of the marketing mix A good understanding of the fitness sector advantageous. Excellent sense of initiative and problem solving Strong written and verbal communications skills with proven experience in operating successfully in matrix environments with complex stakeholder relationships Excellent numerical reasoning skills Ability to work autonomously Job Offer Competitive salary circa £60-65k on offer plus a strong benefits package for the successful Head of Marketing based in London.
