Sales Director Newport £90,000 - £110,000 To ensure the growth of our client's markets for flat steel products, they are recruiting a Sales Director to take full responsibility for the sales activities across the flat steel business in the division. They are looking for an experienced Sales Director to build further on the strong product reputation of their flat products mills, Responsible for developing, implementing and executing strategic sales plans, focusing on attaining annual sales and margin targets, building up distribution channels, establishing strategic business relations, and providing ideas for all strategic sales plans and their implementation. The individual is also responsible for controlling the selling costs with the objective of achieving predetermined net profit yields. Responsibilities Devising and deploying (in collaboration with mill MD's) all sales objectives and goals across the mills, including sales targets and budgets preparation. Developing and implementing quarterly and annual sales programs, plans, and policies for every mill sales manager. Integrating and aligning sales plans with available processes, IT systems, talent and other areas in order to increase the capability and success of sales force. Managing the performance and activities of the entire sales units, including account managers, regional managers, and staff. Creating training and development programs for sales managers. Conducting analysis in order to manage performance levels of sales against market developments and corporate objectives. Developing and implementing reseller agreements, distribution strategies, and other sales opportunities. Planning and executing business show appearances. Creating product segmentation strategies wherever needed to maximize trade opportunities across different sales channels. Maximizing work relationships with key distribution partners. Developing, managing, and nurturing new business partnerships and accounts to accomplish volume and profit goals. Exploring and growing the client account list, dealing incoming leads and ending sales. Seeking out and directing new customers and sales opportunities, initiating action plan to advance and procure new business for the company. Updating the organization on changing online market trends so that the organization can prepare and regulate plans accordingly. Requirements Proven in-depth understanding of flat rolled steel products and the associated sales channels - from stockholders through to construction, yellow-goods, renewable energy, offshore, oil & gas and general engineering markets. Proven leadership experience gained in primary steel producer. Proven ability to develop sales strategies for steel products, tactics and techniques based on the feedback of the customer and market environment. Able to manage effectively a cross-functional team. Experience in developing sales strategies and performance metrics in the steel sector. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Leadership ability, entrepreneurial attitude and a good team player. Advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong training and presentation skills. Excellent negotiation and sales skills. Able to work under pressure and close deadline. Education and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business administration or marketing related field. Within this pivotal role, you will lead, manage and develop the income collection and money advice service in all aspects to ensure that target levels of performance are met. This will involve ensuring that due income is collected from Group tenants, leaseholders and freeholders and that an effective money advice service is provided to support customers in financial difficulty.
