They're looking for a Head of Market Risk to join their team. The Head of Market Risk will lead all areas of the team as they develop market risk monitoring and continue with the insourcing of our investments. This is a vital position in the organisation and you will oversee market risk exposures across all areas of their investment portfolio, providing the key point of contact between the risk and investment teams. Typical responsibilities include ensuring appropriate checks and controls are in place within the risk systems, scrutinizing metrics that inform investment decisions, conducting thematic reviews in the company's risk profile and making recommendations for risk strategy. What they require is a degree educated and risk qualified professional with excellent knowledge of financial markets, risk methodology and financial products across asset classes, and preferably experience of managing a team of risk analysts. Interested applicants will be able to analyse and aggregate risk with different characteristics and taking into account different time horizons, understand market risk sensitivities and be research-driven to identify and support risk management. Experience with long-term protection markets, whether life insurance or DB pension schemes (including asset allocation) is desirable. They're looking for a strong leader with proven man-management skills to work within their Risk function. The role is responsible for the operational due diligence on external investment managers and suppliers of investment support and related services. You will also be responsible for the ODD function, leading process changes/enhancements and determining the direction of the function within the business. The role will also act as a centre of competence within the Risk function for investment operations, providing input to the development of operational risk process related to investment activities. Ideally you should possess Analyst level experience in operational due diligence, good all round investment product/structure experience and a good knowledge of the alternative investment arena and derivative products. Experience of dealing with Investment Managers, trading counterparties including clearing brokers, prime brokers, custodians and administrators is essential as well as strong knowledge of regulatory and legal topics related to the fund/investment management industry is required.
