JOB TITLE: Chief Engineer LOCATION: Devonport Royal Dockyard, Plymouth RATE: £35.00 - £45.00 per hour CLIENT INFORMATION: My client is one of the UK's leading engineering solution providers based at Her Majesty's Naval Base, Devonport, the largest Naval Dockyard in North West Europe which employs in the region of 5,500 people. This is one of the three operating bases in the United Kingdom for the Royal Navy. They supply naval base support functions for the Ministry of Defence delivering critical in-service support and deep maintenance for the UK's military estate. You would be an experienced Head of Service, looking for your next interim role within Public Sector. Primarily you would be involved in developing the future structure of Waste and Street Scene Services and embedding new working practices, as part of an ongoing project to modernise the Service. Along with being able to lead the strategic direction for the service, ensuring a commercial and competitive approach at all times. Also ensuring that the Council's waste disposal, recycling activities, ground maintenance and street cleansing activities are carried out in accordance with environmental legislation. This is an interim post based in Plymouth for a period of approximately 6 months. Pay rate is negotiable depending on Skills and experience. You will hold the following demonstrable skills & qualifications; - Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline and/or corporate / professional membership of a recognised institute or body. - Full working knowledge of environmental legislation and policy (regional, national and European frameworks) and of good practice, particularly in relation to developing and implementing innovative policies and delivering strategies for the management of the service areas. - Extensive experience of effectively managing large budgets and delivering services and/or projects to time, quality and budget. - Proven evidence of leading service delivery, change and improvement at a senior level. - Proven experience of partnership working and involvement at a senior level.
